Bio

Jacob Schweitzer was born in Casselberry Florida and has spent his whole life in front of the piano. A self-trained Pianist, and multi instrumentalist, Jacob has spent over a decade perfecting the art of playing by ear. Jacob prefers playing blindfolded than being restricted to reading off sheet music, and has honed his abilities so that he may simply pick up and play to any song playing, without any prior practice. Using a signature method he refers to as "CAGE" Theory, he has trained many in using this method of learning so that they may enjoy playing piano to the fullest. Playing the songs they want to play, without the need to practice scales.

My Story

I remember getting my first keyboard and locking myself in my room for hours upon end. I wouldn't leave to eat, drink, or sleep until I no longer had a choice. After some time, the notes started to make sense to me in a way I was sure was how they were all supposed to be strung together. With a bit of perseverance, I was able to integrate what I had learned and use it in order to improvise. The more songs I would listen to, the more songs I would figure out how to play. I'd log each song's name in a notebook , and watched the number of songs I could play gradually tick up. It didn't take long before the notebook I had kept ran out of space to write, and I realized learning the songs first was no longer a requirement. So long as I could hum along, I could play it.

As a child, my father would play all sorts of music, many of which I still believe don't quite fit into any single "Genre". I grew up listening to Pat Metheny, Andreas Vollenweider, Bela Fleck, and many other artists I couldn't yet name. I knew them just by the songs that would play, often finding myself asleep in the back of the car, heading home long past my bedtime.

As I grew older, Pop was introduced to me around the time I was in high school. It didn't take long before I noticed how I could string together the same chords and realized I could no longer tell the songs apart. They all shared the same structure more or less, and it made learning the few Pop songs I did enjoy, that much easier to figure out.

I soon grew much more interested in alternative rock, and found the gritty guitar playing much more my speed. It was around this time I purchased my first guitar. There was a band named "RED" that I would credit for my love of strings. They would craft their music around low melodic guitar playing, but never ceased to amaze me with their use of orchestral stringed instruments in so many of their tracks.

   Then it hit me.

I had grown up an avid lover of video games. The soundtrack to "Halo" had always struck something inside me. The soaring strings I came to love had always been there. That "Larger than Life" sound I had always heard, but could never quite pinpoint to any specific Genre.

   Epic Cinematic Music.

I knew I wanted to create the sound I had been hearing for so long, but didn't know where to start.

I borrowed an old Macbook with a whopping 2GB of RAM and got my hands on as many freebies as possible. I utilized the free sounds included with Garageband to create tracks for video games I'd develop with my close friend.

When the opportunity to upgrade my hardware finally arrived, I had custom built a workstation I was certain would be future-proof.

Countless scores later I again found myself pushing my computer past it's limits and bringing it to it's knees again and again. It was around this time I created "The Arrival".

A studio with a past rooted in indie game development, I knew not everyone had the same budget as the biggest producers in Hollywood, and made it my mission to provide Music that could truly inspire and light the creative spark in all of us.

I'm always looking forward to creating new worlds of sound.
